My Experience


  • I received my doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1976.
  • I have been a licensed clinical psychologist in full-time private practice in Pleasanton, Ca. for 35 years.  My license is PSY 5278.
  • I work with adults in individual and couples therapy.
  • I am certified in clinical hypnosis, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Response), and the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program
  • I also lead groups based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program that deals with stress, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic pain, and depression.
  • In 1976 I co-founded the Crisis Intervention Service at Valley Memorial Hospital in Livermore, California.  I was a crisis therapist and consulted to the Service until 1985.  Also at that hospital I was on staff as an Allied Health Professional and a member of the Mental Health Advisory Committee.
  • As a psychologist I have taught at a community college for several years.  Prior to being a psychologist I taught 8th grade for four years.
  • I worked many years at Walnut Creek Psychiatric Hospital doing psychological assessments and treating patients.  There I also chaired the Affiliate Staff Committee working toward full staff privileges for psychologists.
  • At Tri- Valley Haven (a shelter for abused women and families) I supervised the therapists and was a consultant to the professional staff.  I have supervised other therapists throughout the years as well.
  • Through the Red Cross I was on the Disaster Response Committee to provide crisis intervention for victims of trauma.
  • During graduate school and as a licensed psychologist I lead communication skills workshops for companies.
  • I have written and given many talks on intuition, traumatic stress, the Two-Career Couples, and the Effect of Divorce on Children.
  • I also presented at Grand Rounds at Valley Care Hospital in Pleasanton, CA. My topic was “WHY ARE SOME PATIENTS SO DIFFICULT TO TREAT? THE DISGUISED AND LONG TERM EFFECTS OF PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA ON THE BRAIN AND THE BODY”.
